BIOGRAPHY

I received a BFA in Art Education from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Urbana, and through the years have studied extensively with some of the most talented artists in the fields of acrylic and watercolor painting, etching, and mixed media.   I have taught in the Chicago land area since 1986.  I taught at The Art Center in Highland Park, IL. (Formally know as the Suburban Fine Art Center.)  I have also been an artist facilitator for Art Encounter, of Evanston.  In that capacity I interacted with residents of retirement and nursing homes with original art.  Together with another facilitator we engaged them in conversation to guide them to view art in new and different ways.  I also enjoy teaching privately, (Playing With Paint Workshops) with children from 5 to 105.  In the eighties I sold my work at art fairs, group shows, and one-person shows.

In the past 5 years, my passion has been Plein Air painting. (Painting on location).  My recent work captures a sense of place. The spontaneity and energy can only come from “doing it there”.  Do you have a favorite garden?  Would you like to see it represented on canvas through the eyes of an artist?  http://patch.com/illinois/highlandpark/local-artist-hold-half-sale-art-center
