Artist's Statement & Bio

I began to use recycled and found materials in my art as a graduate student at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. After obtaining my MFA, I taught painting and drawing at Western Michigan University. My series I call "Death Toys" has been exhibited in "Drive By" street and public park exhibits in Los Angeles and at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago.

My series of sculptures are my statement against violence and reflect the desensitization of American youth as it faces domestic violence, road rage, gang warfare, stray bullets and war in the middle East.
