Willow Tree  22 x 18"  Sand, PVA glue, acrylic and glass liner

BIOGRAPHY

Inspiration is derived from my surroundings and objects of importance to me. Each piece of work has been executed using plaster, sand, P.V.A glue and sugar combined with oil paint, acrylic, watercolor and ink. My work is generally textured and often includes trees, something I have been fascinated by since I was little. I also produce individual hand painted gift cards, and take on commission work whilst teaching Art and Design. I am very flexible in my approach to the work I produce and can create work to suit individual requests.

Painting for me is a journey, always introducing me to new experiences and allowing me to view things in different ways. I initially studied fashion, but found this too restricting and went on to study a BA (hons) Degree in Surface Decoration at Leicester De Montfort University, followed by a P.G.C.E in Secondary School Education, Art and Design. I have taught in schools for many years and the time has come to develop my skills and ambition further, by studying for an MA in Art Psychotherapy this year.
