Why I love Chicago...

"I have lived in Chicago for the last 12 years.    I was four years old when I first visited Chicago, my grandmother said I fell in love with the city immediately - the pigeons on the street the way people dressed and the tall buildings.  It was also the first time I saw black and white people sitting next to each other without contempt.   I knew something was very different about this place and I liked it.    After high school, I attended the American Academy of Art located in Chicago's loop.   After I graduated, I moved here permanently.   I have resided in many neighborhoods and each one has their own energy.    I love the diversity of Chicago.   I love going to Devon Street for Indian groceries or seeing someone on the el with purple hair or the charming contrast of the farmer's market downtown.   Chicago has a lot to offer."
