Why I love Chicago...

"What I particularly appreciate about Chicago is its sense of openness, both physically and psychologically. Lake Michigan as well as the vast amount of public land along it prevents you from feeling hemmed in and constrained. There should be a prominent public monument to Montgomery Ward for preserving the lakefront for us all. Psychologically, Chicago is not a stuffy town. You can attempt things here without the fear of failure hovering over you. Of course, I also love the remarkable cultural diversity and, perhaps strange to say, I appreciate (usually) the weather—I would not exchange its challenges for the sameness of a seasonless climate."
