Why I love Chicago...

"Young brothers cross swords made of cardboard and tin-foil in a play at a northside church.   Children fish pennies out of pools and wet their sleeves up to their elbows at Garfield Park Conservatory.   A family warms under a green, plaid blanket and drinks hot chocolate by the thermos while rooting for the home team.    A boy draws a picture, in crayon, of the Superdawg drive-in couple - a wiener flexing his biceps while his girlfriend regards him admiringly with gleaming blue eyes.   Now I live in the suburbs, but when I see the distant Chicago skyline I know my heart still resides in the city."
