I use found object materials that I
find in thrift stores to express my idea which is a spontaneous one depending on
what I find in the shops. I build on my original concept with more objects and
maybe paper mache and/or paint until I reach a finished point. I use
objects that are contrasting in nature to bring out my intended artistic
message; for instance to contrast eroticism with innocence, or humor with a
serious issue. My artwork sometimes protests social injustices and very often
communicates feminism and liberal viewpoints. My artwork may include
spirituality in its subject through Judaic symbols o ritual objects. I
like to use children’s toys or decorative figurines in my small sculptures. I
sometimes hook up electrical lights or battery-operated machinery to my pieces
to add another dimension of light, movement, or sound. My art is 3-dimensional,
using a full palette of colors in mixed media on a variety of materials such as
metallic surfaces, fabric, glass, paper, household objects, etc. My
art is meant to communicate to the viewer; to persuade and change her/his mind,
to question the authority of the existing status quo, and to alter the viewer’s
perception of what art is all about in the first place.
