Julia Spencer Katz received a BFA from Washington University in St Louis with a major in painting. Her paintings are predominately figurative. Recent awards include a juror’s award at “National Art Premiere 2007”, shown at the Elmhurst Art Museum in Elmhurst, IL and she received the award for Best in Show from Highland Park Art Walk 2006.
